About Us

Campus Ministries United is the student ministry of Gardner-Webb University. The CMU Council consists of Student Leaders correlating with each CMU ministry. They work together with GWU’s ministerial staff in prayer, discipleship, and relationship building to promote a passionate and enduring devotion to Christ among the student body.

Pastoral Care Ministries includes students who pray for campus, as well as the future of the campus. An addition to this ministry is the 24/7 prayer room located in Dover Chapel. The prayer room is open to all for prayer, meditation, and expression through art and music.

Small Groups offer students the opportunity for weekly Bible study, accountability, and prayerful support while at Gardner-Webb. Please contact the Men’s or Women’s Ministry coordinators for locations and times of currently available groups.

Women’s Ministries Through small groups and fellowship, females on campus have the chance to have strong Christian relationships and accountability. SISTERS ministry provides the women on campus opportunities to meet and build relationships with one another through fun events and service projects. Women’s Coordinators: Madi Metcalf, Victoria Swain

Men’s Ministries allows students in small groups to meet for fellowship, prayer, accountability and Bible study. BROTHERS ministry gives men on campus the opportunity to go on camping trips and other fun outdoor adventures. Men’s Coordinator: Neal Payne

Prison Fellowship Ministries provides students the opportunity to visit regional prisons allowing for conversations and ministry to the prisoners.

International Student Ministries Since international students are far away from home, this ministry, in partnership with the International club, provides the chance for international students to have a “home away from home” at GWU.

Missions Possible Ministries offers local and international mission trips in the Fall, Spring and Summer. Additionally it creates awareness for mission needs at home and abroad.

Outreach Ministries provides discipleship and fellowship for all students on campus. This ministry offers students opportunities to serve others and develop relationships through one-on-one interaction.

F.C.A.’s mission is to bring athletes, as well as other students, together to serve and worship. They meet every Thursday night at 8pm in the Clubhouse.

Gospel Choir practices weekly and has opportunities to perform in churches and other events.

Media Ministry helps facilitate worship through the ministry of media. This includes making videos, power points, running sound systems, photography, and working at Dimensions.

Publicity Ministry gets the word out about upcoming events and other ministries through flyers, banners, videos and more.

Athletic Ministry coordinates a Team of the Week for every team, once a year. During this time of Team of the Week, the coordinator(s) plan a specific time to pray with and for the team before a game/practice, if permitted. Also, goody bags of some sort are made for each player on the team during their specified week. Birthday Cards: If an athlete has a birthday during the school year, and lives on campus, they should receive a homemade birthday card from CMU, wishing them a happy birthday.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
